Everything you NEED to Know about Small Business Relief (*but didn't know who to ask)

Our government leaders have moved quickly to create critically important relief programs for small businesses.  Small business owners will need to take action to qualify for this relief and, for some of these programs, the funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Time is of the essence and we want to help you understand what you need to do step-by-step.  

We also want you to know who in town you can reach out to for help.  

On Friday, our Chamber is organizing two separate video calls, and we recommend that all small business owners attend both.  The first will take place at 11a.m. on Friday morning and run until noon. The second will begin at 1p.m. and also run for an hour.  Here’s the deal with each session:

FIRST CALL: 11a.m., Friday, 4/3

LEGISLATORS and GOVERNMENTAL OVERVIEW OF STIMULUS PACKAGE

Overview of Federal, State and City programs created to assist small businesses during the COVID 19 Crisis.  

This session will be led by our key government leaders:

• US Representative Lori Trahan
• State Senator Diana DiZoglio
• State Representative Andy Vargas
• Mayor James Fiorentini

SECOND CALL: 1 p.m., Friday, 4/3

ACCOUNTING, BOOKKEEPING and BANKING

Resources and people in Haverhill who can help you figure all this stuff out.  Sorting out billions of dollars of aid across the country is hairy business. Our local experts, namely lenders/bankers, accountants, and attorneys, are working real-time to understand the processes that small business owners need to take - NOW - to get in line and receive assistance.  This session will be a panel discussion led by banking, finance and legal experts. These are folks in the community who can help you. 

There will be time for live Q&A.  

One final note: even our savvy experts are still working to make heads or tails of the different stimulus programs.  It’s our strong recommendation to our entire membership to stay close to this. There’s a lot of money out there and it’s important that you understand what’s possible, when you need to act, and who in town can help you.
