Join us in celebrating Essex County's rich collection of homes, buildings, and artifacts from America's First Period (1625-1725) of European Settlement. This month the John Ward House (1710) will be the focal point of the Buttonwoods' 17th Century Saturday programming. Education volunteer and reenactor Ed Dube will be speaking about 17th Century foodways and demonstrating hearth cooking techniques in the John Ward House. The smell of woodfire and bubbling porridge and the ambiance of a home built in the first years of the 1700s will transport you back to those early days of colonial life in Haverhill. For more information about 17th Century Saturday events around the region, please visit www.northofboston.org.
