UMass Lowell Innovation Hub Haverhill presents Entrepreneur Development Series Legal Issues for Startups: What you should be thinking about Networking: 5:30 p.m. Program: 6 p.m. Join us February 13 as we welcome partners from Foley & Lardner LLP, a major Boston law firm with expertise in business formation, intellectual property, venture capital, technology commercialization, securities and much more. Partners of Foley & Lardner’s emerging technology practice will provide a practical insight oriented overview of typical legal startup issues they have seen from the trials and tribulations of 100s of startups it has represented. The presentation will go over issues seen in using equity as currency, employing interns and contractors, intellectual property leakage and contractual transaction considerations, among other issues. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of what traps to avoid, what are best practices and practical considerations that many startups face when cannot follow the model approach.
