Native American Lecture
Native American Program by Annawon Weeden Sunday, November 3 2 p.m. Johnson Auditorium, Haverhill Public Library Take a walk through time. Feel the sense of freedom that can only be found prior to colonization. Experience the dynamics of what it was like to take part in the first encounter of Europeans arriving, only to be discovered by the inhabitants of Turtle Island. Meet Squanto and learn how helpful he truly was. Feel the ferocity of an agitated King Phillip. Hear how slavery set sail throughout the New England region or why the whaling industry shaped the identity of New England tribes and world history today. Audience participation. Theatrical role play, with an educational time travel experience. This program is sponsored by the Buttonwoods Museum with funding from AHEPA and the Griffin-White Foundation and in conjunction with the Haverhill Public Library.
