Ribbon Cutting - Bruster's Ice Cream
Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, an international chain with locations in 21 states, has opened its first Massachusetts store.
The new Massachusetts store is located at 130 Main Street in Haverhill, an Essex County city on the Merrimack River and the New Hampshire border.
The store, owned by Rohan Patel, opened on Jan. 26 and has more than two-dozen flavors, such as Espresso Yourself, which combines cold-brew coffee ice cream with chocolate and crunchy pie crust. The store is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Founded in 1989 by Bruce Reed, the chain is headquartered in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania. There are 200 locations in the United States, South Korea and Guyana.
“I first experienced Bruster’s 15 years ago when I worked at a family member’s shop in Virginia,” Patel said in a statement. “I fell in love with the ice cream, but what I remember the most is how Bruster’s brings families together. It’s been my dream to open a Bruster’s in Haverhill ever since.”
