Vaccination Policy Webinar
Vaccination Policy Webinar
Please join North of Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau for an informative morning session on Covid-19 and Vaccination in the Workplace. Employment attorney Maureen L. Pomeroy and HR consultant Jill Santopietro Panall, both of whom work with many NBCVB members and North Shore businesses, will lead a discussion on what local employers can expect in 2021 on the following topics related to COVID-19:
The current guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC, a government agency) on vaccination policies in the workplace- both in typical and pandemic times
Discussion of the current vaccine status (under emergency use authorization) versus future fully-FDA-approved status and its impact on vaccine policies
- When employers may mandate the COVID-19 vaccination as a "business necessity"
- The interplay of COVID-19 with laws, such as federal FMLA coverage, accommodations under ADA, sick time available under FFCRA and other laws, and paid leave from the new Massachusetts Paid Family Medical Leave
- The requirement to provide a safe workplace under EEOC and OSHA and how these laws interact with individual rights, ADA accommodations and public protections
This discussion will include a review of documentation that employers can/cannot ask for and how to handle employee resistance to changes in workplace policies. It will also feature scenarios and examples to help employers determine if changes are needed in their workplace policies. A limited time for general questions and answers will be made available at the end of the session.
