About Us
Founded in 1985, Emmaus, Inc. is a non-profit organization devoted to helping families and individuals rebuild their lives. It is the largest provider of emergency shelter in Essex County. Emmaus offers meals, transitional and affordable permanent housing, job training, and support services to those in need through programs—Emmaus Family House, Mitch’s Place, Bethel Business Center and Transitional Apartments, Jericho House, Evergreen Place, Emerson Street Apartments, Winter Street Housing, and the Housing Assistance Program.
